Schüco aluminum windows to passive house standard
Bielefeld/Munich. The design of sustainable building envelopes demands more than just implementing the current energy standards. In view of the challenges of climate change and amended legal adjustments, windows will be required to match concepts such as passive house or Energy Plus. Schüco International KG successfully meets these challenges with several aluminium window systems. The Schüco Window AWS 90 BS.SI+ block series completes the Schüco range of block windows with thermal insulation to passive house standard. The Schüco AWS 112.IC (Insulation Cover) is also the first aluminium window system worldwide certified to passive house standard. In addition to thermal insulation properties to passive house standard, the new Schüco AWS 120 CC.SI by GSW composite window also offers integrated solar shading.
Schüco AWS 90 BS.SI+ optimizes transparency and thermal insulation
The Schüco AWS 90 BS.SI+ block system combines the proven benefits of block windows – elegant design and maximum transparency – with the highest thermal insulation requirements. Attractive glazing sight lines without visible window vents can be created with a Uf value to 1.2 W/(m²K) and narrow face widths from 95 mm. This block system shows that efficient thermal insulation, maximum vent weights and sophisticated design can be combined well together.

The Schüco window systems with a basic depth of 90 mm combine the benefits of aluminum with maximum thermal insulation for design-orientated, sustainable architecture.
In the basic depth of 90 mm, Schüco offers a comprehensive modular window system, including new passive house certification. Its series Schüco AWS 90.SI+, Schüco AWS 90.SI+ Green and Schüco 90 BS.SI+, which feature maximum thermal insulation, represent a perfect combination of structural requirements with the greatest possible degree of architectural design freedom.
With the Schüco AWS 90 BS.SI+ series, the narrow face widths and concealed vents allow the realisation of harmonious aluminum block window solutions in single and now double-vent designs. With a basic depth of 95 mm, passive house standard can even be achieved.
Innovative, sustainable and future-proof – significant proportions of renewable raw materials are also being used for the first time in insulating bars, foam and gaskets for the Schüco AWS 90.SI+ Green generation of windows, which is production-ready. For example, the use of castor oil, an ecological substitute for fossil fuels, in polyamide insulating bars.
